Sando's Story
The details of Sando's history are compelling and provide a glimpse into the truth behind the stark
facts of file records.
Six year old Sando wandered into a refugee center for displaced persons ten years ago at the height of Liberia's brutal war. The youngster was traumatized, lost and utterly alone. According to a humanitarian relief worker at the center, officals believe little Sando was separated from her parents as the terrified family fled into the jungle while their village was being attacked by marauding rebels. The rest of her family was never heard from again. Sando was referred by humanitarian relief workers to CRM where she has grown up. She is now a seventh grader at the CRM orphan school.
